Easily the best of the prequels but it still has its issues (mostly with its garbage dialog). Obi-Wan v Anakin and Yoda v Palpatine though, make the entire prequel trilogy worth it.

It pays homage to its namesake but it does its own thing and I think it’s better for it. Ultimately really enjoyed it and two scenes in particular were really fun and will stick with me I think.

It has the worst dialog of the entire series and the Naboo scenes are nightmarishly bad but it’s got some solid action sequences and Yoda pulling out his lightsaber is still awesome.

There are scenes that are good but I really struggled with this rewatch. It takes too long to get going, is painfully dull in parts, and the three different finale storylines make for a disjointed climax.

Last year when I saw it, I had mixed feelings on it and I think I’m still there with it but more on the negative side now. It’s just so mean spirited and abrasive for shock value that I’m less intrigued on second watch.

It never gets as entertaining as the extremely absurd opening but it has some good jokes and Goldberg as a bulked up murderous Santa kinda works. I mean he can’t act but he’s good at picking people up and throwing them.

BlOps7 is the proverbial mixed bag. The campaign is trying something that is cool on paper but questionable in practice. And the multiplayer is, as most years, rock solid fun competitive shooting.

Lumines: Arise gives the Tetris Effect treatment to Lumines. Problem is Tetris Effect is just Tetris getting the Lumines treatment so Arise is kinda just another Lumines, which means it’s a really good block puzzle game.

I love adventure games, Sherlock, and am fascinated by The Ripper case so this should have been a hit but it mostly misses due to the endless back and forth exploratory gameplay and mediocre puzzles.

It’s simple but also weirdly complex fun and I appreciate the attempt at a single player campaign that’s not just grand prixs but it does get repetitive. I’d just rather play Mario Kart or Sonic Racing.

It’s what it looks like (a puzzle exploration game with a walking lighthouse) but also it’s surprisingly much more. Maybe my favorite of Double Fine’s games.

Third time through and it is still quite fun. It is basically a big budget action movie that you can play through and the gameplay is just mowing down hordes of nazis with some occasionally annoying boss fights.

As far as holiday tv movies starring former child actors, its fine. Any other metric, it’s not great. That said, Will Ferrell’s cameos are gold as are the Jonas’s self deprecating jokes.

Edgar Wright delivers a film that stands alone from the Schwarzenegger version. The action is fun and Powell is good as the lead. That said, I don’t think I’d watch it over the original adaptation.

Rewatching this was rough. It throws a bunch of stuff recognizable from the games but also completely detached from them into a blender and then spews it across the screen with reckless abandon and it doesn’t work.

The magic in this heist series has always been its fun personality and while I feel this one is maybe the weakest of the three, it still has plenty of charm and is a fun, breezy watch.

The film is visually arresting and well acted. It’s also maybe a bit too long. That said, after watching this and many other adaptations, I think I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t actually care for Frankenstein as a story.

I don’t love the animation style but Trachtenburg understood what was wanted and needed here. It’s a trio of historical Predator tales (like Prey) tied together in a satisfying way. Quality stuff.

Dek and Thia are fun characters in an entirely different type of Predator film than we’ve ever received before. And it mostly works as the world has cool alien creatures, and it expands the universe in smart/fun ways.

These films used to be fun but they’re now a little too much like looking into a twisted mirror that is sadly coming into focus. That aside, this one starts quite well but devolves too much into a sub-standard action film.

Still a solid action-horror film with some really great, haunting imagery but it’s ending is a bit too optimistic (which considering how The Forever Purge quickly wipes away that ending it seems it was).

Look, I know it’s bad - its trying to do too much working off of the shit that 5 left, plus it looks bad - but it is trying something and it’s the first one I saw in theaters so I have a soft spot for it.
