You may have read about a battery fire at a data center in South Korea ten days ago which burned through a few server rooms and took down pretty much every important digital service for Koreans. The story continues to roll on in a number of weird ways: www.datacenterdynamics.com/en/news/batt...

Any mention of working from home allowing parents to be there in the mornings to help get their children to school rather than being on a pointless commute? No.

I was allowed to do that. But. Whether it's spent at school or at home, if your time is filled with meaningless nonsense on which you are judged despite it in no way benefitting the children, it's still soul destroying.

I wonder if they'll ever realise that it's not a few % on a wage packet, or a extra couple fo weeks maternity pay, that is needed to halt the exodus - it's a fundamental rethinking of what education is and what it's for.

Post-budget, I'm apparently going to be £38/year better off! More importantly, there's hope at last for schools, and the NHS.
Not perfect of course, but I'm so glad we're not under Tory rule anymore.

There is no greater vanity project in education than a headteacher announcing "We're going for Outstanding!"
Parents aren't that bothered.
Children don't notice any *positive* difference.
Staff workload soars and morale takes a battering.
