BBC News reports that > 40% of universities in England are projecting financial deficits by this summer, due to a significant drop in international student numbers following visa policy changes.
The University cost controls will keep coming, because international students certainly will not.

Really quite astounding to contemplate the level of job losses in higher education at the moment. It's hard to predict where it will end up, I am personally quite surprised we have not seen a forced merger yet - perhaps 2025 will bring the first
