I suppose the desire to keep to myself comes out of anger and resentment, and frustration from my own social isolation. I have nice friends, but it’s been a long time since I was half as important to any of them because my social circle is so small compared to theirs, due to the way life played out

Okay if I get this job that pays a tidy amount of money (unlikely but worth a shot) I’m definitely gonna stop talking to everyone and go skiing more instead. Free me from this curse of seasonal depression
Blow your life up. Stop talking to the friends you love. Buy plane tickets to somewhere far away and go alone. Grab a pint or four at 4 o’clock in a mostly empty bar. Doubt your life path, but only for a while. Curse your past self. Resolve to be better tomorrow. Think about skiing more often.
