I always considered it to be the final form of the materia system. There are certain restrictions based on the characters but beyond that, the possibilities are endless. Yet there is no need to sit and level each quartz and it ties well into the economy with sepith and the lore of the world.

This is an issue with every entry in a long running franchise of live service games or even games that get support and post-launch content in general. The new game is compared to the old one and panned for its lack of content.

Used to be so frustrated almost all the time and didn’t like who I was becoming. Not so bad anymore since I walked away but that 1 year was enough for me. Life’s calmer by comparison but the reminder is enough that if a game ever frustrates me now and I feel angry at it, I’m uninstalling.

This is very true. Once you’ve had that dopamine rush, it’s hard to go back. I’ve never tasted alcohol or smoked or done anything of the sort in my life but I consider games to be my vice. There was a time when I was so heavily into Overwatch, Siege, and Destiny that I struggled to walk away.
