The recipient will maintain membership within KASL through the two-year period for the purpose of verifying employment.

The applicant must have an interest in school librarianship, be in good health, and be a resident of Kansas.

The scholarship is given gratis, providing that the recipient, upon graduation, serves at least two years in a Kansas school library media center.

The recipient of the scholarship will be given a free KASL student membership for that school year. Selection criteria include:

The applicant must have fulfilled the admission requirements of the school of her/his choice.

The KASL Founders Scholarship is intended to lead to a master’s degree (or certification) in library education. The scholarship is presented in the spring to be used by a student in a Kansas college or university. The amount given for the fall semester is $750.00.
