100%! A lot of people think he's stupid, but he's very calculated. He knew there would be a protest and that he'd use it to his advantage. Nats will be gunning to boot both partners out so it's gonna be an interesting 1.5 years.

I'm not one to be complacent, but it takes serious arrogance to pick a fight against Māori considering how connected, resilient and determined we are. Seymour would know that if he ever spent any real time with any of us.

This is correct. Submissions supporting Māori wards were a 63% majority, but NACT still went ahead. I expect it will be the same with the RSB. There is a strong chance that Treaty Principles Bill submissions make a difference though - the tell is largely the wording in the Coalition agreement.
