I am a recent transplant to the Twin Cities and something I have quickly learned is that the minute you live here, you are a Minnesotan. It doesn't matter where you come from or who you are, once you are here you are a Minnesotan. Community is strong and valued here. It is an amazing state/culture

Even if he does invoke it, or declares martial law, he still can't cancel elections. And states have national guard for a reason and ensuring fair voring is one of them, if need be. Sucks to suck.

They don't need to win anyone over. The world doesn't NEED the USA, USA NEEDS the rest of the world. They depend on the rest of the world for food, shipping, manufactured goods and (very important here) medicine. NATO also owns USA debt they can collect/sell, and house military bases for the USA.

I want to be an optimist. I just have lots of experience with shitty military people who gleefully support every single thing happening. I hope it is a small sample size in the big scheme if things.

Maybe. The majority of military people are deeply conservative. And regardless, hundreds or thousands of civilian deaths would still occur. Walz is doing his best to prevent large scale civilian casualties is my guess.

The side waging it has the backing of the military, and I doubt they will honor their oath when ordered to round up and kill US civilians.

All of the non voters I know are lazy, entitled white people. They whine that it doesn't matter who gets elected, it is inconvenient to vote and one even said they don't vote because they don't want to get called for jury duty.

So we should just sit back and allow people to be attacked, have their homes broken in to, murdered in the street, etc? This has ALWAYS been where things were headed. Allowing them to continue on this way only emboldens them. Everyone pretending things are going to be normal again are delusional.

They followed the orders to go in and kidnap the leader of VZ and killed multiple civilians in the process. They willingly bombed unarmed civilian boats. Not sure where your confidence in this comes from.

Lots of independents and dems stayed home and chose not to vote. Dems especially seem to expect their candidate to be ridiculously perfect and pure or they just can't bring themselves to vote. MAGAts will vote for anything as long as there is an R next to its name on the ballot.

Because Trump has been so much better for Palestine? The choices were literally and flawed but average woman or a steaming dumpster fire man and people really sat home not voting or voting for Trump thinking they were "showing the establishment dems and teaching them a lesson". And now we are here.

That is exactly what Vance and Miller are hoping for, sadly. They are escalating to provoke so they can justify martial law and crack down on anyone not like them. Not saying to not defend yourself. Just really disgusting we have found ourselves here and have allowed such evil men so much power.

I think he is pointing out that the government acted on a single fraudulent video despite having abundant evidence that the somali community in MN are legal residents and there is no evidence they are perpetrators of widespread fraud.
