The problem with elite institutions has never been leftists or wokeness or the coddling of the American mind or whatever other asinine thing conservatives drone on about. The problem with elite institutions has always been powerful, wealthy, elite people.

This is understandable for a lot of reasons, including the fact that the term “gender ideology” has deep roots in JPII’s Theology of the Body and cannot be divorced from that theological background

Plenty to criticize about the Church’s and the USCCB’s approach to gender, GAC, and healthcare we don’t need to go “hahaha dress = girl”

I continue to absolutely DREAD this book and the damage it’s going to do, I feel like I’ve been trying to come up with a plan to counter it since it was announced

As I pointed out when we got a new pope, yes this does matter even if you aren’t Catholic, because the USCCB holds a ridiculous amount of political power in this country
You need to know who the power players are and what rhetoric they use and what their agendas are to be able to counter them

The USCCB though (and probably others but this is the one I have to deal with) has become entrenched in the US Political Machine and it’s a fucking problem for everyone

Bishops’ Conferences, as a basic idea are a solid concept. The lives and needs of Catholics vary globally, so the conferences are trusted to make culturally reasonable decisions based on the geographic area they serve, while aligning with Church teaching

I have been saying for YEARS now that the USCCB is far more interested in being a political organization than anything else, and at this point only works to further the polarization in the USAmerican Church
