After listening to and watching the coverage of the life of Pope Francis, I hope all those in power and leadership, as well as those without power, can draw inspiration from the ways he lived his life, the people he fought for and supported which continued though his sickness and death.

Many offices, clinics and hospitals rely on Medicare and Medicaid dollars to stay open to service our nation’s citizens. Medicare and Medicaid are public service programs and you are, by definition, a public servant of the people of Alaska and the nation. Please don’t forget that.

Please don’t cut the federal $$ needed to support the families&seniors that rely on the help these programs provide with medical costs. Many many families and seniors would have to forego medical procedures without Medicare and Medicaid that could result in critical health risks or even death.**

The program defunded referred to in my previous post, is the Nat’l Conservation Corps formally Americorp started by President Clinton. We personally saw this program in action during the Yukon R. flood in Galena, AK. The corps helped flood victims in the rebuilding of damaged homes as we did.
