An investigation of the LCSO contracts, however, turned up a number of highly-paid contractors, vague contract language, little accountability and even a contract issued to a fake name. The office gave no justification for their contractors’ employment.

It also came out in September that Marceno had recently purchased a $600k condo in Sarasota, in cash. His financial disclosure from just 6 months earlier, however, did not show anywhere near that kind of purchasing power.

Bank records, contracts and payment invoices show Romano was indeed a contractor for LCSO for 6 months in 2022, and was paid up to $5,700 a month as a “social media expert.”

Romano also said he paid off tens of thousands of Marceno’s gambling debts, gifted Marceno expensive jewelry ($45,00 ring) and furniture (a piano) and that he himself had been paid up to $5,700 a month for little to no work at LCSO.
