Well, one ideology overcomes and supersedes the other. I don't think you've understood my contention: geographically splitting the US cannot solve this problem because it is not a geographic problem but an ideological one that exists everywhere.

The "two countries" of the United States are NOT geographically separated; the divide is largely rural vs. urban and Black (and other minorities) vs. white everywhere.
