There was a story this summer about a Hmong refugee that was in a gang as a youth. So he never could become eligible for a green card, but had turned his life around and had become productive. I think it was in Sahan journal.

A lot has to do with the Floyd protests. Some of the networks built back the were dusted off.

Should they be investigated ok. I think they should have stayed outside the service. If they feel their civil disobedience is worthwhile.

Good news this man, Saly, was returned home. They drove him around for an hour, and then they realized he was a citizen.

In fact, some of the citizens picked up by ICE are not even processed at Whipple. They are picked up and taken several miles away. It is not entirely clear why some people are taken to Whipple and others are not, or which ones are taken to Whipple.

Absolutely, they are two different questions. And I can tell you that children of non-white naturalized citizens are worried about their parents here in Mpls/ St. Paul.
I have learned to ask the question "Where do you live?" Because my daughter has friends who are children of immigrants.

Ok- I looked at the video again. He is asked- "Where were you born?" He asks the agent- "Where were you born?" He actually never answers the question. "He then gets into the well you have an accent?" Well, the line is well so do you?
It seems he did not answer the question- which is his right.

Yeah- If I remember the agent had the exact same accent. One of the viral videos of I believe a Somali woman answering agents, they asked her where she was from, and she said- I am Minnesotan. (She clearly had an accent, and got them to go away.)

I wonder if this is in response to the video from Prem Thakkar of Zeteo that was posted. FYI- The agent asked him, if so- then DHS is lying. The agent asked him- "Where are you From?" which is different than "Where were you born?"

Lutheran Social Services and Catholic Charities do a whole lot to help our Refugee communities get resettled. I grew up in a UCC Church, we sponsored a Hmong family. On the 25th anniversary of the family arrival they gave the families that helped them out a feast.

And the general view of the populace is do what you can. If you are only comfortable buying supplies, do that. The folks who follow ICE are heroes.

A couple of days ago the feds claimed being in the road in front of Whipple you would be arrested. It has meant the protestors have for the most part been off the road.

Heck- maybe DHS needs to understand they are turning residents of Mpls into protestors. The Mom said she is going to get out and protest. Hey-DHS don't make us into radicals.

Yeah- NY Times- now has that Ross was NOT taken to the Hospital, but Whipple. ANd on top of that Renee Good was alive when EMT's arrived. Failure to render aid, and not allowing a doctor to help her. Minnesotans here and I just keep getting ANGRIER.

This particular photo is great documentation. The wife is a nurse, the husband had checked in at Whipple Last week. They did not have a judicial warrant. They filled out an administrative one which holds no weight.

I went to a smaller protest in Eagan. All committed protestors, a lot of boomers. All very cognizant that the admin wants to push push push and light a match.

Oh I know Columbus has the 2nd highest. But Ohio is not gonna get treated the way Mn has been treated. Imagine if the number of Ice and border patrol in the greater Columbus area was greater than all of the 10 largestt police depts in the greater Columbus area.

Yep, and Austin HS now has 20 languages spoken in it. A friend served in one of the ELCA churches and told me the Congregation had a lot of recent immigrants as well as old Austin hands.
