If this isn’t proof of utter incompetence I don’t know what is. A bunch of someones had to type that into a computer (and not proof), print it (and not proof), and put it on the table (and not proof). And then all the geniuses sitting at the table also didn’t notice.

I’m 76 and no one suggests an MRI as a regular part of my annual. I DID have an MRI back in my 50s when it was suspected I might have had a stroke. (It wasn’t; apparently I had a severe migraine. Never had one before or since.)

Imo, all the university has to do is read this poor excuse for a college-level essay and they’ll see that it deserved the grade it received. I expect the instructor will be reinstated promptly. I also expect this student will learn nothing from this experience.

Post high school I always had essay or oral exams, including defending my masters thesis at U of C. Of course this was back in the dear, dead days beyond recall…

I bought my laptop 8 years ago and it still absolutely does the job (which to be honest only involves uploading and downloading documents and using MS Word). I probably will get a new one if/when it either breaks or until it stops supporting MS OS updates.
