Just woke from a dystopian dream where Donald Trump was doing speeches in my Catholic high school (I graduated in 1992). Then, .time travel to today, I'm in the vet's office, my dog getting an xray on her leg (she is getting one today), and Roger and Jason come in, both smoking, to say good luck.

So, #Curethreads turns 5 years old this weekend. I really cannot believe it. In 2020 I had access to a textile mfgr in CA who outfitted sports players. They pivoted all their operations to make face masks for nurses, and took custom orders. I had 4 Cure-inspired ideas.

My new profile pic is an illustration used on the cover of THE SECRET LIFE OF THE FLYING SQUIRREL, written by Laurence Pringle, published by Astra Books For Young Readers (2023).

Ruby Roobaru when she was 14 weeks, when we adopted her. I think this was the first time she laid with me on the floor.

Hey #kidlitartists and #kidlitauthors, show some love for National Parks & forests with a book or illo you created.

Managed forests preserve vital habitat for birds, insects, and mammals. Did you know that Flying Squirrels are just as common as grey squirrels in woodlands east of the Rockies?

I learned a lot about sea otters while conducting research for illustrating The Secret Life of the Sea Otter (2022, Astra BFYR).

My favorite sea otter fact: these super furry shellfish eaters carry their favorite oyster shucking rocks in specialized armpit "pockets" for future use. 🦦💚🩵💙

Tips for spotting #superb #owls on #superbOwlday... a distant, perched Great Horned Owl sometimes resembles an impressive wasp's nest.

Name that movie. That I just watched. And it's still unnerving.

Why do I itch to paint winter snowscapes more than any other season? Something about twisted bare limbs rising from snow fields begs me to notice them.

Amazing shots! I sent them to him and he said "Thanks!!" You captured his sly, delighted smirk perfectly.

I run a little art prompt project for fans of The Cure, called the CureArtsCollab. Inspired by Inktober on IG, we started with Curetober in 2022, and have worked up to posting monthly Cure-themed art prompts. I posted this month's prompt yesterday, #thecuremixtapes2025. Here's the Call for Entries.

Happy #nationalillustrationday. I've always wanted to illustrate a book with a penguin main character. Here's a cropped illo from a dummy I created for a book about empathy with a penguin and a flamingo—two very different birds in nearly every way.

Watching the Troxy show for only the second time since it first aired. I know the new album on a deeper level now than Nov. 1 and it elevates my level of appreciation for the live renditions. Even Endsong, which I thought I knew so well. 🔴
