Controlling kids access to media on their phones, for 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, in term time, isn't gonna stop them being indoctrinated with bigotry the rest of the time.

Kids can be truly demonic and cruel. They were cruel in my school days and we didn't have mobiles or the internet readily available back then. Yeah, phones are exacerbating the issue to some extent, but we should be teaching kids about empathy and kindness, and how to navigate life safely...

Like, they want people to save so they don't have to rely on pension credits and other benefits when they hit retirement, but they seem intent on punishing mid-earners for doing so by taxing the mediocre amount of savings they've managed to accrue?

Are they actively trying to disenfranchise their voter base? Cos while 20k in savings is hard to reach for a large majority of people, 4k is very reachable for a decent chunk.

People go and get help to quit both smoking and drinking from their GP due to health concerns ALL THE TIME, without fear of being reported/arrested. I've known addicts and users of illegal drugs that have wanted to get off them, but are afraid to seek help. The war on drugs hasn't worked.

Old SF/F doesn't necessarily equal *good* SF/F. And some of it is impenetrable for people who *are* into the genre, let alone those who are new to it.
I read Wuthering Heights around the same time, and The Great and Secret Show by Clive Barker, both of which I loved. CB is an experience tho 😆 2/2

I read 20000 Leagues Under the Sea at the age of about 19 I think. Had I not already been a SF/F fan already, having read a LOT of Pratchett, Tolkien etc, I think that book might have put me off. I remember pages and pages of lists of flora/fauna, and very little about the story. 1/3

Not mad, it's a good point. But Zack doesn't *just* do social Media, he goes out and speaks to people too, in constituencies that aren't necessarily Green "friendly". Reaching folks on social media isn't necessarily bad if those folks hen chat to friends IRL too.

It's almost like running an exceptional social media campaign with a positive, hopeful message, and making clear, decisive statements against Fascism, and corporate greed, is more popular than "keeping with the status quo" and "hoping" to make some gains next election cycle.
