This sounds like such a fantastic way to do family holidays.

And, gratefully, Minneapolis has three great options for mayor. I endorse Omar Fateh and Dewayne Davis, and I will rank Jazz Hampton. It’s going to get louder and more chaotic in these final days of the campaign. Let’s keep focused on strengthening the Minneapolis we love – by electing a new mayor.

There are more reasons Minneapolis needs a new mayor, but lying about police reforms, acting in ways that undermine trust in police reforms, and an inability to partner with other elected officials to promote and deliver on our city’s needs make it clear we need a new mayor.

Minneapolis needs a mayor capable of developing strong working relationships with other elected officials serving the city. Especially in these uncertain times. After 8 years in office, Jacob Frey has no endorsements from the Mpls legislative delegation or county commissioners serving the city.

Minneapolis deserves a mayor we can trust on police reform. The officer who killed Amir Locke was put in charge of use-of-force training by Jacob Frey’s police chief. When the situation became public, Frey doubled down on the chief’s decision before the people of Minneapolis forced a change.

Minneapolis deserves a mayor who doesn’t mislead us about policing. My heart still aches for Amir Locke & his family. Four years ago, Jacob Frey claimed to have ended no-knock warrants. He didn’t. And an innocent man then lost his life during the execution of a no-knock warrant.

First, I have to say I am still so grateful for the many people who supported our campaign, who shared with me their hopes and dreams for our city, and who show up every day to make Minneapolis a great city. The people of Minneapolis are wonderful.

Folks know I have some experience running against an incumbent, and I think it’s important to explain why we need new mayoral leadership in Minneapolis. I have such strong thoughts about this that I ran myself 4 years ago.

I also plan to rank Jazz Hampton, and I am so grateful he has stepped up to run and is offering his leadership in this way.

I endorse DeWayne Davis bc I've been impressed w/ how he is bringing people together in his campaign & his mix of political experience & dedication to serving people in our community. He's shown a high level of integrity in how he’s navigated challenges in Mpls, & that's especially important now.

I endorse Omar Fateh because I've been impressed with the drive & energy he brings to the campaign &, more importantly, to fighting for & with working people as a public official. At this moment we need leaders aligned with regular folks not wealthy interests, and Sen. Fateh is that kind of leader.

The wholesale sellers at the main Minneapolis farmers market sometimes have lychees. They also sometimes have passion fruit for cheap. Which I love!!!!

I have been taking the 10th Ave bridge on my bike commute because the dinkytown greenway bridge is closed, and I am very glad for the bike infrastructure that makes 10th Ave feel safe. But I am still looking forward to dinktown greenway bridge coming back. It’s my favorite!

I’d also like a demand around corruption. But this is an area I know less abt. I just know it’s abhorrent that Trump’s net worth has doubled in the past year to more than $5 billion (according to Forbes). Trump is using his position to enrich himself, his family, & his allies. It’s unAmerican.

2. No federal military in cities unless the governor of the state has requested it.

3. Fire RFK Jr. (for lying about public health, science, and making Americans less healthy.

Honestly… those are probably the three I’d start with.

So, what does fighting look like? I think the idea of winning a shutdown is maybe the best we’ve got right now. And these are the handful of demands I’d start with.

1. No federal law enforcement officials can wear masks while on duty.
