I formerly worked in HR for 2 small private institutions. That split you’re referring to that’s common at public universities like this one isn’t always so clear. I just hope academia unifies appropriately around academic standards/processes but we live in times where that takes rare courage.

Except in this case academia is purging itself.

I’ve actually been very thankful the news outlets haven’t replaced the women with male reporters who would command more respectful treatment from the President. I feel terrible for the women and I’m disgusted by his behavior, but I’m glad it’s out for everyone to see.
