A few photos from the #Portland #nokings protest and march. Thought a lot about the “Be Reasonable Demand the Impossible“ slogan today. People power matters. The absurdity and humor on display was excellent and effective. Portland we love you!

I love you, Portland!

We still have dogs and the right to protest. That is something to celebrate.

Nature is a balm. From a 16-mile loop trail run with Marion and three other lakes, Minto pass, and some side trails this Sunday. Part of Mt. Jefferson wilderness area. An older burn is still really prevalent and made for some exposed, hot running. Feeling the sore muscles today.

Extremely glad I got a 10-mile rainy trail run in this morning before all this new terrible war news. Hiking, running and just being outside is a major help with stress management.

Enjoy some teeny ducklings I spotted with the dogs (kept far back and leashed) this morning at Commonwealth Lake, a neighborhood treasure for people and birds. Today is hard, but there are still ducks.

Portland, Oregon turned out for No Kings. The streets were full, peaceful, and the parade of marchers was extremely long. Everyone (but kings and authoritarians) are welcome here! Love the community in Portland.

Apparently we were at the same Chicago community event!

Sunday is for sourdough #breadsky These two loaves got a good rise and have toasted pumpkin, sesame and sunflower seeds inside. 50% bread flower, 40% Edison flour blend from Camas Country Mill (outside Eugene), 10% all purpose. Didn’t score these before baking because I was short on time.

Hiked up to King’s Mountain in the Tillamook Forest this morning with a friend. Pretty great way to spend a few hours on a Sunday. No dogs today as the hike is pretty steep/technical in parts and I knew there would be snow. Nature is always the best medicine for worries.
