Bad at social media. Bad at bios. In Northern England. Currently making a tragicomic alchemical video game called Chymicalia.
Things have been kinda rough lately, and I keep missing #ScreenshotSaturday but have some new character art of a total shitbag. This is Olly, who used to bully you in school, and hasn't improved, since.

This pride month, let me assure you that Chymicalia allows you to play as the full range of sexualities:
- sad (gay)
- sad (bi)
- sad (other)
- smoker

Almost done adding gamepad support, but it doesn't make for exciting new screenshots, just whatever I happen to snap at the time. Here's Voss attempting to justify his taste in men. #Chymicalia #ScreenshotSaturday

Still fixing lighting on Chymicalia. For #ScreenshotSaturday here's Nim, who is only truly happy when she's lecturing about weird rocks.

Posting some #ScreenshotSaturday in lieu of spending all my time thinking up torture machines I'd put JK Rowling in.

Anyway, have some context-free unintelligible Voss comments. Currently fixing too-dark lighting, tell me if this is STILL too dark?

Final Day of #Devmas! (thank you @fnifegames.bsky.social for this idea, I managed to keep up!)

DEV TEAM SNAP: Look, "team" is mostly just me, and I'm bad at cameras. But you can have the team mascot, our very mystic and esoteric Alchemical Stuffed Crocodile*, as seen in Chymicalia.

Days of #Devmas: LOOKING FORWARD (2025 goals)

I'd like to get more opinions on the game, and more feedback! So, trying to upload regular new builds, and invite more people into the testing discord.

And keep posting stuff, so people know what the game IS. Need to make more gameplay vids.

Days of #Devmas: ELF ON THE SHELF. (Hide an elf in your game.)

Listen. Most of what I've made, historically, has been Morrowind fanwork of various flavours. Chymicalia is one of my rare NON-ELF projects!

but fine, here's vivec undergoing circular distillation.

Days of #Devmas - HAPPY ACCIDENTS.

My walk anims are non-existent. When I forget to change the character's direction before moving them offscreen, the stick-puppet effect gets even weirder.

Especially when it's Nim, and her silly dark glasses drama-flip makes her look like a meme.

Days of #DevMas for today: ENDLESS LOOP.

I tried posting little alchemical process animations before, but video wasn't working, so let's try that again. The alchemy equipment art is by the lovely @modernmodron.itch.io

(We're calcinating some bits of broken bottle that we found in the street.)

MOST DERANGED (internal convo or code comment)

Rather than risk exposing my code (or worse, the things I say in private discords), I'm choosing to share some lists of terms I've put into search engines, when researching Chymicalia.

TRUST THE PROCESS: concept art vs final result

For this church background, I used a 3D town model to get layout angle shots, and combined with reference photos, Diva sketched and finished the scene. Then animations, finishing touches (and characters!)

The other reason I like this background is the big chimney provides an opportunity for shenanigans.

FAVOURITE VIEW:
Hard to choose, but the background that Diva did for the abandoned factory is a favourite. I sent a lot of references for the right grim urban dead industry vibe, but especially the painting Saltley Gasworks by Ronald Moore, and the big ravaged gates turned out perfect.
