Self-diagnosed AudHDer who likes all things nature. I also game, a lot, it is self-regulating. Mom to neurodivergent children, wife to potentially neurodivergent husband, and most of the time calmer of the chaos that is a house full of different needs.
I must be an oddball. The only soda I was allowed was diet coke. Even in the US I hated normal coke/pepsi so much I couldn't drink it. I can't taste sweeteners in anything, but also I can't taste lots of stuff so there is that. Everything in the UK has them due to the sugar tax + health messages

The ones in our house are hard wired and are in the hallways. If I'm cooking something especially smokey, I close the door to the one outside the kitchen which stops it from going off. Best bit is the false alarm button that turns it off for half an hour.Still have blinking light tho

The funny bit is it's related to vaccines. Kittens of all types (to continue the analogy) grow up to be cats more due to vaccines. This leads to more adult orange cats living to make more potentially orange cats. Vaccines don't cause the cat to be orange, but more kittens live to be orange cats
