Native persimmon (Diospyros virginiana) we collected in early October 2024. These were left to rot for a few weeks and then sowed in propagation trays at the Earth Sangha's ( @earthsangha.bsky.social ) Wild Plant Nursery.

By request of my toddler, I've now made clay toilet paper, watermelon, pear, and strawberry. Not pictured is the clay poop which is by far her favorite of my creations.

My phone always auto corrects Liatris squarrosa (scaly blazing star) to Liatris SquarePants.

I'd like to start a petition to officially change the name since that is clearly superior.

In August 2020 I found a Luna moth while mowing the lawn. Yes, I did feel like the Chosen One. 🐛🌳

So looking forward to the Springtime when @madelinebright.bsky.social and I spend inordinate amounts of time laying in the leaf litter looking for little buddies like this rue-anemone! Photo taken in May 2020.

I took this picture of Verbena hastata (blue vervain) in my front garden last summer, but never ID the little friend. Any thoughts?
