I Make Comic Issues; I Have Gender Issues. Regularly described as being like a fan favourite sitcom character. Still not sure if that's a compliment. Autistic; so I talk about Doctor Who like, way too much. (Very left wing. Very.) Em-Dash Advocate.

I was genuinely tempted not to pin this like my other comics due to the compression fucking up the halftones; does anyone on the #art side of Bluesky know how to counteract the compression on here?

The latest issue of Leese on Life; this one's a bit of a local one, so if you're from anywhere other than Staffs, don't feel bad for not understanding the references to local legends.
Leese on Life - Mermaids
A Comic done in the style of pulp golden age horror comics.
Panel 1:
The Staffordshire Countryside as seen through a car's rear view mirror.
Narration Boxes: I drove out to the more rural part of Staffordshire the other night. Out of the city.
Panel 2:
Throwley Old Hall
Narration Box: The part of Staffordshire where Headless Horsemen wander the moors...
Panel 3:
The Chained Oak
Narration Box: Where witches curse the trees...
Panel 4:
A bloodied hand reaching out of Blake Mere pool
Narration Box: And where mermaids lure unsuspecting hikers to their deaths.
Panel 5:
The night sky.
Narration Boxes: I went to watch the stars — Alone. Not for fun; but as a distraction.
Panel 6:
Me lying on the grass wearing a shirt that says 'Capaldi 12'
Narration Box: A distraction from a burning desire within me.
Speech balloon: I wish I was a girl...
Panel 7:
The moon covered by clouds.
Narration boxes: I often wonder if I'll die like this. Or if I'll — one day — find the courage to take the leap of faith.
Panel 8:
The reflection of the moon in a rippling pond.
Narration boxes: Then I think of Rowling, Linehan, Streeting, Badenoch; I think of the people who support them in their views; I think of the people who buy their books and watch their shows because they don't really give a shit... and I think whether it really is a leap of faith, or whether it's a mermaid luring me to her pool.

Just so you know, the fandom wiki is no longer properly moderated now that they’ve gone independent and moved the entire wiki to tardis.wiki (that’s why Fiona’s screenshot has a blue background and yours has a burgundy looking one.)
Tardis Wiki - the Independent Doctor Who Wiki
Tardis Wiki is the independent Doctor Who wiki, covering the BBC franchise alongside spin-offs like Torchwood, The Sarah Jane Adventures, and so many others!

Quotes from Tory Doctor Who:

——

“Clara, am I a good man?”

“Well, you like GB news, so not really.”

——

“You’re a Muslim. One of the good ones I hope.”

——

“Personally I respect your right to have different views from the woke main stream media.”

How come no one ever talks about that one scene in Empire of Death where the old CBBC mascot has a two second background cameo as an alien working for UNIT?

I'm watching a documentary where a tour guide is driving with Mark Strickson (Turlough from Classic Doctor Who) to the Hollywood sign, and the tour guide knows none of the answers to Mark's questions, but was able to explain the entire business history of a local porn café they passed unprompted.

I remember seeing this when a friend and I decided to go on a road trip to get Ice Cream.

It's 35 feet & was made for the 50th 'versary of Doctor Who. They called it a 'Dalick' because it was one of the straw sculptures that Snugburry's Ice Cream farm makes.

I think it was designed by Mike Harper

I just created my first @tardis.wiki page and I gotta say, I'm very disappointed that "I remember it" is not allowed as a source.

I mean, there’s a few nice moments in it, but that’s the problem. They’re just moments.

Alone, those moments would be a bonus highlight of a normal episode; when mashed together with staples, blue tack, and rewrites though — they lose their charm.

It’s probably better to watch it as YouTube clips.

Big Finish cares about referencing classic Doctor Who so much that they even make sure to have missing episodes.

When he comes to the realisation that he is who he’s always wanted to be anyway, he completely changes. He’s obviously the same person, but he’s happy and unburdened.

He’s himself.

He realises that everything he does, he doesn’t do because it’s easy or he gets something out of it; everything he does, he does because it’s kind. He would never say it himself of course, but he realises that’s exactly what the sort of person he wants to be does. That's exactly what a good man does
katherineleese.is.tired.fyi
He’s miserable, he’s short tempered, he’s cold. But then at some point he realises he isn’t a bad man, he realises he’s an idiot because he realises he’s who he suspected he was deep down the entire time, a guy who just wants to potter around and help out when it’s needed.
