I’m a bit late but it’s still January, so new year new profile picture!

I have a habit of updating across platforms to help keep in touch with people. This year is different.

As Silicon Valley loses its mind it felt more like an “in memoriam” than anything else.

It’s not just TikTok that’s dying.

The UK is within spitting distance of having more murders portrayed annually on TV shows and movies set in the country than occur in real life

It's so incredible how low homicide rates are in Europe. The UK, with a population of 70 million people, had fewer than 600 murders in 2023.

Mine makes dinner most nights and does almost all the laundry. I do most of the tidying and deep cleaning.

I'm most at peace with them around: we like the same shows, foods, and we both spend a lot of time working on our own projects.

Been living with them since 2008 (though we did 4 years LD).

Violet’s been recognized as a youth advocate around Covid19 for years: using her platform to shine a light on those who are forgotten. She’s also spent her time at Yale to draw attention to the issue.

A nepo baby gains financially usually in the same field. I don’t see her parents in this space…

Very fair! The ability for the UK to absorb the water is also higher (even with our low biodiversity).

I do use the factoid primarily to jolt people out of thinking the South East is a “wet” place.
