I got my first issue of @noemamag.com in the mail the other day. I don't *agree* with everything in it but the writing is good, it's designed beautifully, and it's kind of a thrill to hear such radically different perspectives from what I'm normally exposed to

What might replace American lawns? Entomologist Douglas Tallamy advocates for what he calls “homegrown national parks” — seeding native plants (oaks are an excellent choice for most places, he said) and reducing mowing and chemicals.

These are the proactive steps states need to be taking right now. Another thing: every Democratic governor needs to have a sit-down now with the state adjutant general to carefully review that person's understanding of their responsibilities to their state, its citizens and the federal constitution.
Washington just took the reasonable step of not allowing the National Guard of other states to operate here without our agreement. It’s not the Guard personnel we are concerned about, it’s other governors in the Trump cult. katu.com/news/local/g...

Well, it has — because it's positioning itself as global hegemon for the climate-changed future.

Trump's climate denial is only a stupid, tragic assist to that end.
