🧠 Big welcome to Jackie Ferraro, who’s joining our team as a doctoral researcher! Jackie explores how kids with Cerebral Visual Impairment experience cluttered spaces like classrooms and shops. She’s got a cool mix of neuroscience, psychology, and creative arts in her background.🎉 #CVI #AcademicLife

Still buzzing 🐝 after a fantastic day at #OTAUS2025 My #PosterSkirt was a great conversation starter 👗 Such a warm welcome from OT Australia. Sharing behind-the-scenes with you here.

Massive thanks to astroradioleah.bsky.social‬ as sewing teacher and to Imy (10) for making video “less cringe”

Looking forward to learn about OT stroke services. We were off to a great start with Ellen Druce on supporting patients with their independent practice, Tayla Grant on activity based rehab in in-patient settings, and Natasha Lannin and Sally Day on falls prevention #OTA2025

Started a slightly different project recently with Leah Morabito! It has everything I love: learning something new, creative problem solving, and a high nerdiness level 🤓 Result will be revealed in a few weeks.

Achromatopsia poster. It shows a drawing of glasses. In one lens you can see letters in all colours. In the other lens, the same letters are in black and white. At the bottom there are come colouring pencils. A cartoon character is pointing to the yellow pencil and says 'what colour is this?' another character is saying 'yellow'. At the top is a post-it note that says '22% of stroke survivors will have some form of achromatopsia'. The main text reads: "This refers to a difficulty recognising or perceiving colour. The world can appear in shades of grey, or just look more dull. This can make it hard to tell the difference between similar shades of colours such as yellow and green. Difficulties can be restricted to either the left or right side of vision, or can cover both sides. There is no cure for achromatopsia, but managing its symptoms can look like: asking others to point out the colours of things, wearing tinted lenses to help with light sensitivity, using technology like apps to identify colour"

Ever heard of Anton's syndrome? It's a rare but strange condition. 👨‍🎓

After an injury to the back of the brain, a person can become blind but they are totally unaware that they can't see. Their brain does not realise that they can no longer see. 🧑‍🦯
