You know what would be an interesting experiment?

To train a model as identically as possible to ChatGPT (there are caveats to this) and then see if people think the same way about a model that just spits out answers with no waffle.

They won’t, but will they ask why I wonder.. (probably not).

Also (and I know it’s not wholly the point of what you’re saying, but just to add to it) there’s the fact that the technology literally doesn’t even facilitate consciousness as a possibility. These people are fucking bananas 🍌
