I’m using my recovery time well…… in order to make meaning out of using poetic inquiry in education research, I need to understand the poetry first, history, form, function and meaning.

I love this book….. such a great book to support story sharing with reluctant readers…. It really is brilliant, my favourite bit is where the pigeon offers us a fiver to let him drive the bus……
I absolutely *loved* reading this book aloud at storytimes and class visits when I ran them regularly 😊 (sadly it's not very often these days!)

One of my favourites. 🤩

Great news, a first step of many required to reduce readiness for school and the speech, language and communication inequalities in the Early Years
🚨 The Government has announced an uplift to the early years pupil premium today.

This is great news, as we have been calling for an increase to the EYPP for several years - including in our recent manifesto of policies to improve social mobility ⤵️

School readiness is the fruit of good family and community support from conception. Including a strong focus on parental sensitivity and family relationships. I really hope a focus on school readiness is built on this broader understanding.
Government needs Sure Start 2.0 to hit school-readiness goals
If Labour wants to hit its target of 75 per cent of 5-year-olds being school-ready, it will need to engage heavily in early years support - just as we had before, says Anne Longfield

The Government has today pledged to ensure 75% of 5-year-olds in England start school "ready to learn". Public libraries have a crucial role to play here, as highlighted in our briefing from last year www.librariesconnected.org.uk/news/use-lib...
Use libraries to help get children "school ready", say teachers | Libraries Connected
A vast majority of teachers say libraries help children prepare for the classroom.
