Similarly, I seem most productive when I give writing 30 minutes a day, before I do anything else. Sometimes I get into the story and continue, sometimes I don't. Tracking time is better for me than word count because some important phases (like scene planning) don't generate a lot of words.

You never know when you'll need some random bit or bob . So, I have dozens.
