If anyone else wants to know what our labor stats look like over time (like I do), here are two charts from @usbls.bsky.social.
Outlets reporting on the monthly numbers should also include these graphics to show more context, because our job growth isn't growing.

The line chart is trending upwards, starting around 3.8% and ending at 4.4%. The second chart shows Nonfarm payroll employment over-the-month change, seasonally adjusted, September 2023 to September 2025. The bar chart shows job growth was fairly steady, in positive numbers, between September 2023 and December 2024. It peaked in December 2024 at over 300,000. Starting in January 2025, the bar lowered to about 110,000, with two months of negative growth in June 2025 and August 2025. April 2025 had the highest rate of job gains this year, at about 150,000.

Something you do have control over: Giving a hug.

It can be to a friend, a relative, a pet, a plushie or a pillow … the act of wrapping yourself around something will remind you of what a wonder your body is.

Kitty’s Cafe is a #KansasCity gem that’s been around since 1951.

It’s a counter order/cash only kinda place, and the pork tenderloin sandwich I’ve heard so much about did not disappoint!

And these crinkle fries were the best I’ve had … crunchy, fluffy & very lightly salted 😋 🍟
Kitty’s Cafe’s crinkle cut fries are golden and crunchy. Cost: $4 Half of the Kitty’s Cafe menu with 3 types of tenderloin sandwiches (pork, chicken and catfish), and types of burgers. The cheapest item is a regular burger for $6.20 and the most expensive is the catfish tenderloin for $9.80. Not pictured is the other half of the menu with breakfast sandwiches. The pork tenderloin sandwich is 3 pieces of pork with hot sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion The pork tenderloin sandwich when you cut it in half. You can see the breading is thin and even.
