The great thing about calling the runner down just before the goal line is that both teams are happy. The defense has gotten a stop and a chance at another one. The offense is fine with it too—they assume they will score on the next play. Good job, refs!

The CFP system is corrupt and off-putting, college football is corrupt and off-putting, America is corrupt and off-putting, but I don’t see how anybody who grew up in the 80s and 90s isn’t excited about the 12 team playoff. It’s kind of a trip.
