Cats, knitting, crochet, sewing and a random touch of gardening. Not good at drawing. Life's too short to waste time on housework. Remains a Punk against fascism.
I have an eye on one of your DK yarns for a sweater I have my eye on making. Currently doing my 1st one from this designer, so I'm going to see how it comes up size-wise etc. I'm holding back because I don't want to play yarn chicken & I may need 3, or 4 skeins (by a couple of metres).

Oh dear, I've just looked at your website & can feel my purse getting lighter & lighter.... 😮

I'd go for both mini-skeins and chocolates! We have a company here called Booja-booja who do vegan chocs - I'm dairy free so they're great. Also, they are not all nut-based, which a lot of dairy-free in the UK are. I'm not allergic to nuts, but I prefer them raw out of their shells, not in my choc!

mini skein would take me in a mitten. So if you have lots of mini skeins you can get your stash down by doing stranded colorwork mittens like this.

So everyone clap for me for braving a more complicated pattern lol. 🧶

I haven't made menswear for quite some time, if you met the man in my life, you probably wouldn't be surprised why - he has zero interest in what he wears!

Yes, 80s. Mine are Aero, but metal with imperial sizing. Prob 20+years older than yours as I nicked them from my mum. I'm thinking about when I bought my plastic, metric ones. I suspect early to mid eighties. They all still work well 😆

It is brilliant! 😍

The yarn is Jacob's fleece, so dark & light grey & off-white. Not at all colourful!

I freestyled a sweater & thought the feel lent itself to a jacket/cardi, so that's been my start point. I don't need yet another sweater 😄 Yours sounds very cosy.

I have started hanging moth collectors in hope. So far, I've just lost some yarn & not knits - but I have been wondering about the freezer as that can be a useful tool in your arsenal.

Thank you. My mind is wandering towards recycling an old fleece (brownie points) or buying some ready-made quilted fabric (demerit!). As you say though, an old fleece will stick...

The flowers are pretty but may not survive too many washes and baby-grabs?

Some wools irritate & some don't, I've found. Sadly, what I'm knitting with atm feels quite scratchy.

Lovecrafts had some of his patterns - great for a beginner, bright & on thick yarn. Not my thing at all. I don't want a pink flamingo on my chest, but for for the younger gen? I think GoW might have worked if they had a weekend to produce a scaled-down item, eg child's socks/waistcoat etc

Have to say, I agree. I don't think the concept is right - it doesn't give due justice to the abilities of the contestants. I'm not sensing a 2nd season. Maybe had they asked for small sized items throughout to showcase talent? One way of dealing with the time element?

Ah, another CA Yarn far! Love the jumper.
November 23, 2025 at 2:38 PM
I'm thinking that maybe I need to knit an F1 inspired jumper, but I don't want anything jokey. Currently #knitting in a colourway called LH44 (from when he was in a Merc) by Creative Anarchy Yarns (UK based). Pic when I'm done, I keep picking it up & putting it down.

Snow & sleet due here overnight in the East (Anglia). We had some lovely snow in October a few years back. Made great pics for a xmas card project for youngest son.

I'd say give it a go - I'm finding that tension for me is a little tighter, so I'm adjusting for that. It's going ok & I'm able to switch during a project rather than always swapping projects. Hope it goes well. At one point I had both shoulders frozen. What a faff!
