There’s been some good analysis that it’s less fear of retribution and more interest in mutual (profi) gain. Probably a mix hold true.

I’ve learned over two decades how important balance and my network is: Keeping real friendships alive, and being active in broader groups and networks. So grateful to all people around me and who keep reaching out to talk ans brainstorm 🙏

Ah, well, that's the next Kafka book, "The Castle", with its theme of "relentless, yet unavailing, attempts to navigate the illogical rules and distant officials, becoming increasingly isolated as he confronts an impenetrable system" (and ending nowhere...) 😉
