We serve a variety of foods and so far have been lucky to have kids who are relatively adventurous eaters. We also don't make them eat past the point of satiety. And we never talk about calories unless forced to by the public school curriculum 🫠

yes this is what we say all the time. and the focus is on eating a wide variety of foods to get everything we need to be able to do our best, and moving our bodies, not about size or shape or even 'health'. We put so many extra calories into alec's food it would make some people blush. he NEEDS it.

one of my kids very specifically needs all the calories he can get but he comes home spouting "facts" about how "healthy" food equals "low calorie" food and i HATES IT
