I love how these turned out too.

I’ve posted about my bomber jacket before but this sheer dress finishes the look. Hand sewing the sequins and beads was super fun!

The Spring semester is officially over! Part 1 of 2 - Draping final projects

I’m pretty proud of my draped halter dresses. I almost can’t believe I draped something from scratch!

I can’t wait to learn how to grade so I can make my size.

My first draped garment is nearly done! This mosaic top is made completely out of scrap fabric; including the muslin toile.

This was the most frustrating thing I’ve ever made. Blood, sweat and almost tears were shed. Blood was literally shed

Celebrating the beginning of Spring Break with my completed bomber jacket! I altered the pattern to include the lime green selvage

I used #rubystarsociety warp and weft chore coat in 2 color ways. My stripe matching was very satisfying.

Cat head appliqué is also ruby star. More deets in comments.

At the finish line for my bomber jacket! Just some hand sewing left to do. I’ll show the front when the buttons are on. Meow!

Progress pic of my bomber jacket for Design Construction Tech class.

It took me 2 hours to put in the purple welt the wrong way but only 15 minutes to fix it 😆

Stripe matching is so satisfying!

Week of creativity in draping. Very loose parameters in assignments. Getting to know the way fabric flows on my dress form. It’s hard having a big sand box to play in!

I recently visited my daughter’s old preschool and talked a little about sewing!

I showed them my first ever me made quilt and taught them how to hand sew a heart for Valentines Day.

My heart burst when they all got under my quilt and oooh’d and ahhh’d with cozy

Messing around with different collars for my Design Construction Technique class.

This is a Vogue bomber jacket pattern that I’m altering to fit a designers collection.

My inspo is Anna Sui’s Spring 1994 RTW collection.

My outfit for Austin Frocktails 2025!👩🏻‍💼

Top is the Cornell shirt by Elbe Textiles, made out of Joann shirting.

Pants are the Brier Pant by Daughter Judy, made out of dead stock twill from Stone Mountain and daughter.

I loved seeing all the amazing outfits from the many talented sewists in Austin!
