I've been away for some time and need to share some important things I've learnt:
1) don't wash the bath with mobile phone in pocket
2) if something splashes in the bath while you're cleaning it, check what it was immediately
3) failing 1&2, switch off phone upon retrieval & do not use til dry

My 16 year old wants to try a Carolina Reaper. At school. Her friend will buy her ice-cream if she eats it. I think maybe just getting ice cream is a better idea, without the pain first, but maybe I'm just a bit old fashioned 😂

I am begging you now more than ever that while you’re advocating for trans rights (as you should) please don’t forget about intersex people. We’re impacted the exact same by the same legislation, we are losing our rights and healthcare, the only difference is no one will even acknowledge we exist

And thats got me thinking about presents! So many women I know receive nothing or thoughtless gifts from their partners. Those same men say 'don't get me anything' for their own celebration & don't appreciate any gift that is bought. Is this to lift any obligation for themselves to reciprocate?

It's like an abusive relationship, on a much larger scale. Abuser does a thing, partner is upset, abuser gaslights her* & says she's overreacting. Then when he overreacts to something she does, she can't say he is overreacting!

You know, I think the previous election when team 🍊 refused to accept the results wasn't really about them refusing to accept. It was so that when they won this year, dems would feel unable to challenge them, so as not to be like them. And it worked. Even with 🍊 admitting fElon's part!

Here it is! A parol should have tail streamers on the bottom points, also made of tissue paper. But that seemed unwise with 2 cats in the house!

My poor daughter is heartbroken tonight. She's doing DofE at school & the kids had to chose their own groups. She has one friend with her, no-one else wanted them. People she thought were friends either ignored the pair of them or said basically 'sucks to be you.' 🤬

I made a parol [Filipino Christmas Star], with coffee stirrers, tissue paper and enough hot glue to re-form Pangea. It's terrible. And I love it!
if you made art this year, you did well. a sketch, even if it was scrapped ; a poem, even if it was deleted — mattered. you put thought to paper, you engaged with the creative alchemy of turning feeling to something tangible. doesn't matter if you weren't productive "enough." or good "enough."

This is what I've been up to! It's my grandson's bday next week, so I painted this for his room, that his parents have worked so hard on to make beautiful for him. My daughter designed a built-in bed bed for the alcove, she & her husband built & painted it. This (hopefully) can hang above his desk:
