Was seized by the desire to reread North which I read as a teen and was drawn to despite knowing little about Irish history and had yet move to the NT. It was as if I'd read this last month; certain lines have remained totally familiar over the years. TIL 2025 is North's 50th anniversary.

Strikes me as a smart move given how the stalwart mass magazines have also given way to more niche publications like Mildew, Viscose, 032c, etc. (On a tangential note, since Chris Gayomali took the editorial helm at SSENSE, there's been a noticeable shift back to focusing on culture.)
