I like cake and beer. And I think St. Paul is pretty cool.
They are also really awesome about vaccinating little kids. I took our kid for her COVID and flu shots last year, and they got her through the process meltdown free, which is nearly impossible.

Yeah, it’s yet another layer to this cluster of awfulness.

Your neighbors. Toddlers don’t wear out their socks and they’re too small to get reused for anything but toddler feet.

My heart breaks.

Seriously. My 4yo knows the ICE people are taking people away from their families and making her school less safe. She has a stack of zines from little free libraries so she can learn how to protect people. Her separation anxiety is through the roof.

Caucuses have such a high barrier for participation. I wanted to go this year, but the logistics are so difficult for families (and many, many others.) Plus my past experiences have been pretty negative. Maybe some people have caucuses that don’t suck?

I had so many people leftsplain what was happening in my Midway neighborhood as if we weren’t the ones living through it. It was so exhausting.

Moms, people who historically don't give a crap about anything. Sigh.

Ooh, they smashed them too?! We melted ours. I finally confirmed that my kid knows that ”ICE people” are real people (not people-shaped ice creatures) because she was so confused about why we were melting an ice effigy.

I moved to Minneapolis in 2000. I moved back to Indianapolis in 2010 to be closer to family, but only made it a year. I compromised by going to grad school at IU, but was back in MN full time by 2013. My mom is moving here this year so I after this year I won’t even be visiting often.

I don’t think rural Indiana hates Indianapolis in the same way. When I moved back to Indianapolis for a bit, people were worried about my safety but otherwise disinterested in the city. Indy also isn’t as loudly or broadly left. I only made it a year because the city was so conservative (In 2010)

Gummy anything. And sour gummy? Why? My kid insists on sharing all her gummy treats with me and eating them just bums me out.

Crap. All this and we still have to figure out summer camps?! (Cries in parent)
