I want my games to fill a niche between teaching paddling and having fun, while also promoting teamwork.
This is an early test with mechanics to 'build' a river; in this picture there are 3 distinct 'chutes' the hexes available for each chute are randomly generated and the player builds the river according to their own desire and simple rules.

#Creeking is a type of 'activity' broadly; that includes navigating creeks and has significant connotations to whitewater #kayaking and #canoeing. It is also associated with camping and hiking. A sport that often places you in beautiful isolated locations, hidden worlds.

Testing out the hex layout and mechanics for building a river. The chute layouts work well, but I'd like to dress it up more along the banks with a shore after you build a chute.

My high level idea of the kayaking game I'm working on:
1. Players build a river, by exploring it. A round dedicated to creating/exploring, light on limits to players creativity.
2. A dedicated round of 'running' the river the players create in round one.

I'm finding a lot of beautiful ways to think about paddling as a board game; I paddle a lot, multiple times a week, on a large variety of craft - I can't translate all that stuff I'm passionate about to a single board game.
