To be fair, I don't think Lucy has great messaging either. There's this weird assumption these movies have that there's a negative correlation between 'the human' and expressivity. Limitless actually does a better job in that regard.

While on the topic of movies, within the trope of 'unlocking 100% of one's brain,' Lucy was enjoyable if not for some strange plot holes, but it at least presented a far more compelling message than Limitless' of bootstraps, sex appeal, and personal enrichment. I'm intrigued but hesitant for Lucy 2.
