I agree you can't compare most players to speedrunners which is why I doubled it and added the asterisk. But also if you're willing to roll a second character in a league you're already probably in the 98th percentile of players.

The speedrun record is for a fresh character with no gear. The link I provided is for a twinked out alt with lots of valuable gear to start. Given the context of rerolling mid league due to being nerfed it seems a more apt comparison to me.

The world record is 55 minutes. I doubled it and added the 'depending' part but 2 hours is not really hyperbole.

It is convenient that this article just turns into an interview with one expert who pushes the opinion your headline tee's up. On the other hand, medicare for all would save 450 billion dollars per year and save 68,000 additional lives according to a new study which involved NUMEROUS experts.

One more thing to add as well, the campaign in POE1 could be cleared in 2 hours (depending) whereas POE2 the campaign is SIGNIFICANTLY longer. So while gold is easier to get than orbs of regret rolling a new character is even more punishing now than it was in POE1

There was a similar thing in POE1. Builds got nerfed mid-league effectively bricking them. Respec also required one orb of regret for each talent point you wanted to respec. Those orbs were much less accessible than gold is in POE2 but the effect is the same. It's just more practical to restart.

After a decade of this EXACT issue on league launches and with how critical this release is to the companies future success...you'd think they would have taken the care necessary to not cause the same self-inflicted wound we see time and time again. I feel bad for everyone who paid for early access

I feel like its good to start with the understanding that all public companies have a fiduciary responsibility to maximize profit. Regardless of the founders intentions it seems inevitable that, as money and public interest creep in, good intentions become the proverbial pavement towards hell.

To say "a leader rose" when Bush was appointed president by the SC who forced an early end to a recount which would have swung the election in the other direction had it been allowed to continue is either wildly out of touch or just disingenuous. And that's just looking at how Bush got into office.
