🇨🇦Proud Canuck, Liberal to the bone, potterer about in kitchens, owned by 2 cats, cryptic crossword fiend (I ax ape’s soul, that’s how I like it (11))
For over 40 years myself. As a Canadian, I am in winter clothes a lot longer than most people. It’s nice to not have to buy a new coat (for a lot of money) after a few years of wear. And nothing keeps me warmer than fur. Plus, it is comforting that my (dead) mum’s coat may in turn comfort my daughter

We raise cows and other animals for their most useful attribute: meat. Their skins are a useful byproduct. Why is it so unimaginable to raise other animals for their most useful attribute: fur? Manmade fibres are toxic and don’t stand up to wear and tear. I have inherited fur coats that I have used-

Except my version of toxic is actual chemical toxicity. By all means don’t wear fur, but don’t stop others from choosing a more natural product, one that outperforms manmade fibres

I’d rather wear something fur/leather that will last me for decades, is natural/sustainable and compostable. We are being born now with plastics already in our bodies. Time to reevaluate which fibres are better for us, long term

Farm bred fur animals are used up similarly to eating animals. Mink get rendered down to mink oil/ bone meal fertilizer.I’m ok with fur as it’s just leather that hasn’t had its fur scraped off. Fur is natural, durable and biodegrades into compost. Faux,is toxic/persistent at all levels of production

Yeah, they shifted the points system quite a few years ago , in favour of younger entrants. Ageism shouldn’t be permitted in a supposedly civilized country. I’m sorry🌹

Be very careful. Canada bought a pair and one of them caught fire on the voyage over, killing some submariners

I dunno much about the subject, but I’m ok to listen.Surely we can listen, politely and with respect for the feelings of others? That’s how I learn most things
May I ask why folk feel entitled to a guilt-trip free life? Nobody promised anyone anything like that. In my family, guilt trips are forever😁

No, that is the cold reality. PP got perilously close last time. Carney was elected to be a steady hand at the tiller, and so far, he has been exactly that. No buyers remorse here. BTW, we should be looking at Ford, not PP as the potential competition. And he is a far more dangerous proposition

Don’t look too close how the sausage is made, so long as it is made. Blame can be made against FPtP/ranked voting. Fact is, we are so liberal, our two liberal parties garner enough votes that Tories can gain power instead.

To be fair, we have gained dental, pharmacare and cheap daycare in our lifetime, so leadership can’t be that crap.
