Always stuck in my mind when people talk about Danish models for both economic policy and immigration in particular. Hard to beat “Polish Jews forced out in antisemitic campaign 20 years after WW2” in “cultural affinity” or whatever and Denmark was hostile to ‘em. Not a good model for U.K.!

Also, listening to the Today Programme, the minister was rowing back on the rhetoric. Whoever briefed the Kirsty Noem and “Trump-style” lines must *really* hate Shabana Mahmood

which is why for example I’m more ok with legal restrictions on speech by a democratic state, but less so with every Tom dick n Harry usurping its policing. Annoy *all* Aukus heads, in short, make all queerphobia a criminal offence by only the state is allowed to say something is queerphobic

Anyway: both the state and private developers need to build at far greater rates, the default aim should be 'a dual earner couple on average incomes can live in non-crowded conditions and raise a family', and the model family *for policymakers* should be three for obvious reasons.
