I used to concentrate better listening to classical music, but recently, Paul McCartney's solo career has been more productive. Also, a band called @bradford-band.bsky.social who create beautiful, gritty dreamy songs about real life.

Watched the Moon-Spinners last night. It was very sweet & romantic. Will have to look up the Mary Stewart novel.

Betar USA was denouncing the board as woke/liberal & praising Robinson just before he was invited to Israel by the minister. Then Robinson posted a statement attacking any Jewish person who didn't agree with him - it's the old BNP antisemitism with contingent exceptions.

I liked 'Too Much'. It gets a bit dreary with them all being the same self-absorbed, boho, messes, but it's well done.

Old Mother Hubbard, circa 1860s.
From a series of American children's books.

From The Underground Explorers by Conan Fraser, 1957
I found it in Pickering, North Yorkshire, but it was given as a prize by an Edinburgh Chuch of Scotland Sunday school in 1962/63.
Did the book move, or did the owner?

I stumbled into The Gilded Acorn book shop in Holborn last December, bought a book, wrecked the Christmas wreath & stumbled out. The person on the till was incredibly friendly & forgiving & it's one of my favourite places. (I bought Top Girls by Caryl Churchill).

Very sad news about Tony Slattery. I watched him in Peter's Friends at Christmas. I love all the sniping amidst cosy decor.
