Overall Creature Commandos Ep. 1 & 2 is absolutely worth a watch. Some things might be foreign but once you give it a minute to settle it’s a blast of a time. I’m very excited what this brings for the future of DC. It’s easily a 9 / 10. You can watch it on Max and new episodes air every Thursday.

And lastly the music. At first I wasn’t jiving with it. It was however, interesting. But I was having trouble understanding how it paired with the show. But once you get some time with it and really let it marinate with the choreographed scenes. Like me you’ll be bopping to it. It’s good.

And the story telling is great too. It does start off slow but picks up in Ep. 2. I won’t spoil it but it’s definitely worth your time. James has a way of getting you attached to characters without you knowing it and before long you’re screaming at your TV cheering on fucking convicts. brilliant.

And maybe that was an artistic choice from the team. I love how the show has this almost comic book stills vibe. Like, it came straight off the pages. It’s rare you get to see comic book adaptations have an almost 1:1 art style and I’m here for it. It’s damn good.

I’m happy to report that the quality of the animation is consistent and worth pixel peeping at times too. It’s not blockbuster consistent but it’s a high bar for TV. You can sometimes tell where the budget took a rest but over all. It’s mint.

Initially, when promo trailers were dropping, I was worried that the actual animation quality would be subpar at best. Warner Bros Animation has this up and down record of jaw dropping quality to a glorified slideshow. But you can’t judge a dish till it’s been plated.

That’s where Creature Cammondos comes in. With episodes 1 & 2 already out we can get a pretty good glimpse of what the future looks like for DC. And man. I’m so excited to see what comes of it.

James seemed like a great choice to man the ship. He has a damn good track record for writing emotional and gripping stories that last. He has also showed that these characters mean something important to him and wants to tell their stories.
