I think they're both based in the desire to be open and uncomplicated in the desire for affection and trying to put aside the hangups that a shit ton of us transfems get saddled with. As the world has grown more hostile, so has the appeal for joyous surrender into someone else's care

The catgirl is a hacker and activist and has a baseball bat immediately to hand, and if you like her you like her and if you don't you don't. The puppygirl is useless and dumb and needs to be loved and is only really good at taking a beating over and over

The puppygirl lives in a big scary world and can't do anything, and yearns for an owner who will affirm its uselessness, affirm that the world out there is beyond the puppy's control, but the dumb dog forgot that that doesn't matter because the owner will take care of it no matter what

The catgirl is lazy and hedonistic and wants to be taken care of, for sure, but also acts as an agent of chaos and isn't afraid to get her claws out. She's affectionate and fight and bite-y and you might be about to tame her with head scritches but you still have to earn her trust

My personal theory, which concerns things somewhat outside the scope of this article, is that the puppygirl becoming the dominant species (so to speak) over the catgirl is trans folks' erotics reacting to the growing specter of state violence against us

And if we are talking about the sort of incredibly ambitious political climbing sort, that will be scary. The point of this isn't to fix hearts, it is to scare folks away from signaling to move away from us.

Anyway, not thinking of anyone in particular, just a fun thought exercise! (7/7)

Create negative associations in primary voters. We wouldn't need a lot. People aren't too focused on the 2028 election season yet, and if your negative post about this guy is the first one people see, it'll hurt his chances. (Not hugely, we're still far out) (5/7)
