computer person. they/them. back and worse than ever. I know more about metal gear than you and more about gundam than most.
upon further reflection anyone who has that guy's angle probably just struggles with male power fantasy bullshit. stark jegan guy resonates w/ ppl because he is a character who rose to a challenge he had no chance of winning and almost pulled it off. broken boys love to attach to these characters

this guy probably doesnt understand anything he's watching and also thinks manhunter is cool

these ppl are why I am so leery about talking about gundam to any westerner online lmao

oh well whoever posted this is just a doofus

I also care v. much about the mechanical details and nuance of these moments myself, there is a lot to take from them, and in the not-animated versions of the story there is a droplet of insight about stark jegan guy that leans him way more into that whole everything Im talm bout ig

people like those fights because they show folks in high performance suits that don't get a lot of quality screen time, having a cool visceral moment in the sun and nearly proving themselves against another strong character, there is a lot to get out of those scenes imo

no, because stark jegan guy actually rules

idk who isn't

also in the original script the damage to NYC was supposed to be way more substantial and the arsenal gear crash was super watered down in the end. he did in fact want to mostly destroy the city so all the money would be deleted (which made some sense at the time it was written)

its interesting because he clearly carries a torch for aspects of the american ideal that are often romanticized and considered abandoned and forgotten. on the other hand he is a gun nut who conscripted and exploited children and he decides his repentance is to crash arsenal gear so idk what a call

it'd also be quite a challenge to try and accurately remember-guess what it was because of his totally zonked sum of characterization. he is definitely some kind of weird pseudorepublican guy in many ways
February 16, 2026 at 4:08 AM
I actually don't remember if/where his party affiliation may have been mentioned. I will let you know in the not too distant future when I get around to reading the novelization of MGS2, which will absolutely cover this in enough detail to drown a whale

if I didn't know any better about my own life experiences I'd have assumed we worked at the same damn place just doing two different things! no clue what will happen here either since I work in an industry being actively imploded by its own gatekeeping hands (software dev)
February 16, 2026 at 1:55 AM
funny how that works, I didn't do that but I was in an industry that is somewhat involved in. . . things like that? kind of? why all these god damn companies gotta get invested in AI man, it's so dumb

literally the sort of shit a metal gear villain does
