I first read it as we’d better live life now because Drumpf but then realized it was we can watch live, now!

I’m a tail-end junior boomer and would much rather wear a high-quality mask, run my hepa-filters, test with any guests before unmasking, and miss out on the dining-in experience. Do I miss special celebratory meals out? Sure, but not enough to live the rest of my life in misery. Hang in there. 😷🫂

So as a senior boomer he’s what, mid- to late-70s? My remaining parent is 95, so I expect she’ll die fairly soon—but I want her to have as peaceful a death (and life up until then) as possible. Luckily for me, she gets that. It’s difficult for me to comprehend why your dad thinks a mask is ruinous.

I was thinking more like Thomas Matthew Crooks (Butler), but yeah.

100% this. (Plus we have the Fed for a reason.)

Exactly my first thought.

They wouldn’t take responsibility—it could be filmed from 10 different angles and they’d blame it on a “disrespectful” peaceful protester.

I believe the two in Portland, OR were shot but not killed. (It’s still horrific.)

“Abdelkader herself double-faulted on 20 of her 24 service points and was barely able to return Schaedel’s serve.”

Yikes.

“Of the three points Abdelkader won, two came from Schaedel double faults. For the third, Abdelkader returned Schaedel’s serve, and the German — perhaps not having expected to hit a rally ball at all — missed a regulation forehand long.”

You just have to pick a friendlier time zone and celebrate with them. London? Tokyo? Auckland? Whatever works for you! (I’m in Honolulu, so Pacific Time is pretty good unless I’m too tired—then I can change to Mountain.)
