Happy 40th anniversary to one of the GOATs. Super Mario Bros was released 40 years ago today in Japan. I have my complete-in-box copy ready to pop into the Famicom for some real nostalgia later to celebrate.

Finished Jet Force Gemini tonight. This game was hard as hell but incredibly unique. Basically all of Rare’s N64 bangers all smashed into one. Including Diddy Kong Racing! What a ride. Can’t wait to discuss this more with our Game of the Month club!

This game just lowkey has a cart racer in it. I’m not convinced Rare knew what game they wanted to make with Jet Force Gemini.

Made pizza tonight with my 6 (almost 7) year old and 3-year old. It was delicious. I think they might’ve eaten more cheese during the prep than actual pizza though. At least they’re fed 😆

Finished Suikoden 1 HD Remaster. A solid JRPG. Not my all time favourite but I definitely appreciated it more and more as the game went on. Excited to play the second one soon!

Super Mario Bros 3 up on Nintendo Music! Still one of my all time favourite Mario games. I have a soft spot for this one. Excited to add these tracks to my shuffle.

Completed the Shadow campaign in Sonic x Shadow Generations. The best Sonic game in years! I’m a harsh critic when it comes to Sonic. If I’m heaping praise, it’s a big deal. Go play this if you haven’t yet!

Finished another playthrough of Final Fantasy VII. Still my favourite of the franchise. I was more OP’d than I’ve ever been in this game. Took Sephiroth down in two turns. Disappointing as I didn’t get to listen to enough of One Winged Angel.

Super Mario Bros 2 just dropped on Nintendo Music! The only benefit of the slow drips is knowing there is still lots of content to come on this app. Now maybe they can give us something else from the 3DS era. It’s really lacking…
