Gonna be honest, that's probably an entirely your friends thing. BBW as a term has never gotten us weird looks. If their major association to the term is in regards to porn categories, that likely says more about their engagement with certain sites than anything about the Fat Appeciation community.

Admiration is just liking a thing. It doesn't require hyperfixation, stimming, or differentiated pleasure. It can just be regular pleasurable. Differentiated pleasure is kinda key here. You can like chocolate pudding, and like fat, but those likes might or might not be the same kind of like.

Agree with the first part, that it doesn't have to be a kink.
The second part, we vehemently disagree with. The thing that makes something a kink or not is a level of hyperfixation upon the subject related to differentiated pleasure or sexual stimming. Not inherently sexual, but deffo related.
